Train Horn

TRAIN HORN

By Mary Burns

Far away and soft,
comes the welcoming sound
of the train horn.

Some say it sounds lonely,
but not to me.

It calls to me
of childhood nights
in my darkened room,
a muffled noise
that blended in my mind
to mean safety, security,
mother and father nearby,
a feeling that all was right
with me and my world.

It can envelope me still in reassurance,
surrounding me with the sound of comfort.

Light at the end of the tunnel

long tunnel

As we go through the train ride of life and pass through tunnels of darkness we can choose to:

  • remember to light our lantern
  • believe in ourselves
  • know that this moment of darkness will pass
  • be present and feel the glow of our light within

Rest in Peace My Comrades

REST IN PEACE MY COMRADES

By Heimir Stein

The sun is slowly sinking,
and the fading light of day,
reminds me of my comrades
who have long since gone away.

Those heroes who have fallen
in the service of us all.
Who fought for peace and freedom
when they followed duty’s call.

Rest in peace my comrades,
our memory holds you dear.
Sleep in gentle silence
and know that God is near.

You will not be forgotten,
we’ll honor you with praise.
Your legacy will linger
until the end of days.

Rest in peace my comrades,
our memory holds you dear.
Sleep in gentle silence
and know that God is near.

Good advice from your friendly neighborhood spider:

  • Make good connections
  • Be web-savvy
  • Patience pays off
  • Let go of your hang-ups
  • Show your artistic side
  • Dew your best
  • Don’t get strung out!

You can actually get this image on a tshirt, sweatshirt or hat from Earth Sun Moon Trading Company.  And no, I have no connection to Earth Sun Moon other than just admiring their products.
