Gary Farmer and the Troublemakers

gary farmerGary Farmer, an actor and musician, was born in Ontario, Canada, into the Cayuga Nation and Wolf Clan of the Haudenosaunee/Iroquois Confederacy.   He has appeared in more than 100 TV and film projects and also has a blues band called Gary Farmer and the Troublemakers.  The band consists of Gary on harmonica and vocals, John Longbow on bass, Robert Rambo on lead and rhythm guitars, Nicholas Mendoza on lead and rhythm guitars and vocals, and Robert Dean on drums. Seattle Art Museum – Indigenous Beauty and Seattle Collects Northwest Coast Native Art


The Seattle Art Museum is showing two Native American exhibits from February 12 to May 17, 2015.  Indigenous Beauty: Masterworks of American Indian Art from the Diker Collection features stunning works of art including drawings, sculptures, baskets, beaded regalia and masks.  This art reflects native culture and is representative of the regions of Western Arctic, Eastern Subarctic, Northwest Coast, Great Basin and California, Southwest, Plateau and Plains, and the Woodlands and Southeast.   


Seattle Collects Northwest Coast Native Art is a collection of 60 Northwest Coast native works of art featuring iconic masks, wood sculpture, argillite carvings and weavings reflecting the unique styles of native artists living along the Northwest Coast and its inland waterways.  This exhibit is also showing at the Seattle Art Museum from February 12 through May 17, 2015.
